Graduation

On January 26, 2024, Chesta Teachers Training College held its 6th Graduation Ceremony under the theme "Enhancing Technology and Creativity for Excellence in Teacher Education." The esteemed event was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest, His Excellency Hon. Simon Kachapin Kitalei, the Governor of West Pokot County.

The ceremony commenced with an academic procession, followed by the hoisting of the national, East African, and college flags. The attendees, which included the college administration, lecturers, graduating students, and their families, joined in singing the national, East African, and college anthems.

During the ceremony, several distinguished speakers took the stage to deliver inspiring addresses. These included the Former Students Chairman, the Chief Principal, the Board of Management Chairman, the TSC County Director, and the County Director of Education. The Chief Guest, Governor Kitalei, also shared his remarks and words of encouragement for the graduating class.

A highlight of the event was the presentation of awards to outstanding students. The Dean of Students recognized and celebrated the academic achievements and contributions of the graduands. In total, 188 students were proudly presented and dedicated as the latest cohort of qualified teachers from Chesta TTC.

Since its re-establishment in 2014, Chesta Teachers Training College has made remarkable progress, training over 461 teachers who are now serving across Kenya. The college has faced some infrastructure challenges but has also initiated notable developments, including livestock farming, vegetable production, and the installation of Wi-Fi and internet access to support the learning environment.

The 6th Graduation Ceremony was a testament to the college's commitment to producing disciplined and competent teachers who will contribute to the nation's educational landscape. Chesta TTC continues to strive for excellence, guided by its vision to be a National Centre of Excellence in Teacher Training.
